We keep regular business hours throughout the year .  We will also be closed in the event of a snow emergency, and if the weather is bad, call before heading down because we update the answering machine letting you know our plan for that day.
Which FW18 sweater will you knit next?  See which combination of yarn speaks to you the most while attending one of our mix parties.  If you want to see these samples in person, be sure to drop in on Tuesday, November 13th from 11:00-4:30, because they are leaving that evening with Sandy. This collection is named after famous women, and features easy fabrics and structured tailoring for a timeless addition to your wardrobe.  Enjoy your knitting while being mindful of the feeling of each stitch this fall- this is an excellent way to lower your stress.  Click on the images to view more pattern details.

Angelou is your winter statement piece.  Ultrasoft Birch and Cima give unique textural depth, topped off with a Drift collar.  Cather,  on the right, is a new forever favorite, knit entirely in Echo. Timeless simplicity with layering versatility, Cather, is a sweater that effortlessly fits for a tailored, chic silhouette.

Le Guin is a sophisticated take on a look everyone loves.   This sweater is worked in the round from the bottom up with 1 strand of Lunar and 1 strand of Maai held together throughout. Plath on the right is your signature piece. This  is a cropped boxy cardigan with fine, tailored details knit in Cima and Echo.

Sontag is a relaxed cowl-neck tunic, stippled with rich texture. Stay warm in well-defined style knit in Lunar held with Pebble.  Woolf on the  right is a vented cross-over pullover with textural details in the cuffs and collar. Knit in Echo and Lunar flat from the bottom up with a slip-stitch edging.

Many of you enjoyed the limited edition Spring/Summer color "Petal".  Ember comes only in the animal fiber yarns, and once this color is gone, it is gone forever!

A clever accessory where two cowls become one!  Choose your two favorite Shibui colors.

Knitted Knockers

(yes, you read that correctly if you have not yet heard of this great cause)
Since May of 2017, this Fort Wayne group has made over 2,000 knockers for women in need.  They host “meet-ups” twice a month where anyone interested can help knit or crochet knockers.  For more information about the group, visit their Facebook page “Knitted Knockers of Fort Wayne/NE Indiana.“

We would like to challenge our Fort Wayne knitters to make 50 pair of knockers (or more) by November 30, 2018. We will collect as many as we can, then share them with women in need.  Just knit or crochet the knockers and drop them off.  We'll do the rest!  All of us have been affected by breast cancer in one way or another, and Knitting Off Broadway is happy to help support this good cause.

Knitting Off Broadway is happy to support Knitted Knockers of Fort Wayne/NE Indiana, which was started a year ago by two of our customers, Patti DeFreeuw and Martha Opoien.  This organization supplies free knitted or crocheted prosthetics to women who have undergone a mastectomy. This local chapter provides knockers for six local cancer centers and women all over Indiana.

The Knitted Knocker website, www.knittedknockers.org, has several free patterns for both knit and crochet enthusiasts. Knitting Off Broadway stocks two of the Knitted Knockers approved yarns, Rowan’s Glace’ and HiKoo’s CoBaSi, in a spectrum of colors.  Only knockers made from these approved yarns and patterns can be used to fill orders.
A warm Woolfolk welcome for Sno and Tynd with a mini trunk show featuring:
We have Ren in the shop knit in Sno, and we all swear this yarn feels like cashmere, but it is 100% premium Ovis merino.  Ren is a new design and is knit in three gauges.  Tami is knitting it in Sno, and Natalie is thinking about knitting it in Hygge.  On the right is Lys, knit seamlessly from the top down is destined to be your next go to sweater that no one will ever believe you knit because "the stitches are so tiny!".  Natalie thinks this would be a great single project to take on a long trip.

Skift is a stark contrast using Sno (the marled yarn) and Tynd (the solid yarn).  This cardigan can be worn two ways, and we have many color combinations to choose from. Lun on the right has been the favorite, knit with just three skeins of yarn, this project is under $60 of yarn!  It is knit in a modular fashion in seed stitch.
Dream in Color November limited edition skeins pull inspiration from vintage Christmas trees!  What a fun color dyed in a glitter base!

Trying to figure out what to knit in this weather is confusing!

Natalie has been wanting to share with you some spring knits, but when it looks like we are in a snow globe it is hard to get away from wonderful wools!  This newsletter has inspiration for both hot and cold weather knits; so no matter what it is doing outside, you will have something fun on your needles.
We are gearing up for summer here- new cottons, new patterns, and new notions are arriving weekly.  We are very excited to host the Shibui SS18 collection early June, and Donna will be back soon from her winter escape.  We are having fun with the large braided skeins of Manos Silk Blend that are hanging in the store.  We have two of the above samples on display to inspire you, and they are all fun and relaxing knits!
People constantly ask the KOB staff what we are working on- Tami, Vicki, and Natalie are knitting NEW Shibui Spring/Summer 2018 patterns, Tami, Natalie, and Jennifer are knitting Fair Isle Yoke Sweaters, Ruth and Tami are knitting Fair Isle Mittens, and all of us are always working on at least one shawl, one scarf, and one other accessory.  We need projects to suit our state of mind on a daily basis.  Some days you don't want to think, other days the light is so poor that you can't do color work, some days you want to challenge yourself or tackle a project that is near completion.  Whatever your mood, we have a project for you!

Blue Sky Rosewood DPNS have been discontinued.  Our sale section is quite full to make room for the new spring yarns.  This includes: Milla Mia, Mountain Colors Loopy Mohair, Shibui Dune, random fingeringweight, and discontinued colors of Kidsilk Haze, Blue Sky Sport, and Acadia.

New Shibui Yarn- Fern

Brushed to downy softness, Fern is a matte cotton yarn spun from 100% certified organic fiber, yielding a lightweight fabric with impeccable drape.  Click here to see the look book.  Which do you want to knit next?  Did you know Natalie knit the Areca vest sample for Shibui featured on the pattern?

New notions from Coco Knits

Everyone loved the cute little boxes filled with stitch markers, so we decided to add more notions designed for knitters, by a knitter.  Stop in or click the image to see what else we ordered.

New Fibre Co. Yarn-  Luma

Plant-based fibers mixed with silk and wool provide a built-in layer of warmth in winter, yet lightness when required in warmer temperature.  This is a perfect yarn for Indiana most of the year.  Natalie and Tami are both knitting this yoked sweater.

Jul Silver- Celtic Collection

Jul Silver continues to produce innovative designs to keep our hand-knits in place.  Her new lightweight shawl sticks seem to really stay put; we think the new Celtic collection channels our inner "Outlander".
